World Record Living Room Concerts during BAS

“Has Struijlaart gone completely mad??” I can hear you thinking. With a full heart and great pride I can answer that with “YES!” Because here’s what’s happening: during Back At SEA (a music festival) I’m going to set the World Record for Living Room Concerts. It started as a joke a few months ago when I was allowed to join BLØF at the Paard venue. Afterwards we were talking about Back At SEA, and the guys said: “Hey Struijlaart, you’re always doing those living room concerts, aren’t you? Why don’t you try a world record attempt during Back At SEA? There are more than enough chalets on the site after all.” My first thought was: hmm, that would be brutal. But of course I immediately shouted “Sure, I’ll do that!” without thinking twice. Now it’s happening. This morning it was announced in the Back At SEA newsletter that this would take place on Saturday and Sunday. People could reserve their spot immediately via the site. What do you think happened: within 50 minutes ALL chalets were fully booked! So, time to get to work! People are already offering me afterparties and endless supplies of beer if I make it, but I think I’m going to need a tank of oxygen and new vocal cords. ;)

It’s going to be epic, especially on the Friday of BAS. That’s when I’ll be opening the festival in the main tent with my band. After us Racoon plays, so you know what that means: Party. Or ‘Fissa’ as the cool kids say.
