New single: Long Lost Friend

𝙄𝙩’𝙨 𝙗𝙚𝙚𝙣 𝙖 𝙬𝙝𝙞𝙡𝙚 𝙢𝙮 𝙛𝙧𝙞𝙚𝙣𝙙…

Two years and a bit. That’s how long it’s been since I was able to make myself heard musically. And I do it with a song about friendship. We all have a friend or two we don’t see often enough, but when you do see each other… it’s as if nothing has changed. There are also some deeper layers hidden in the track. Here’s one: for me personally, the past two years were obviously very strange as a musician. When we could no longer perform, I went looking for other ways to make money for my family. Over time this clashed hugely with my musical ambitions. Because at a certain point I was so deep in survival mode that my greatest passion, music, kept drifting further away from me.

I wrote this song two weeks ago together with JP Hoekstra and Loren Nine, and it came at exactly the right moment. It made me feel, for the first time in two years, that this is what I love most: writing songs, performing, and simply being really happy doing it!
