Gitaarmannen 3: John Mayer Theatre Tour

Gitaarmannen 3: John Mayer Theatre Tour

John Mayer - as far as I’m concerned the greatest Guitar Hero of the past 20 years - deserves to be celebrated. That’s what I’m doing in the theatres from this autumn. Together with my band we’ll be playing 21 shows across the whole country. We’ll play John’s best songs and maybe some of his inspirations too, because where did John Mayer get his influences from?

Small and acoustic - that’s how I first got to know John. “Daughters” was his big breakthrough hit. But what I didn’t know yet: John Mayer turns out to be a true guitar virtuoso! That came onto my radar through the John Mayer Trio. Together with drummer Steve Jordan and bassist Pino Palladino the self-titled live album came out in 2006. This turned out to be a prelude to what might be his best album to this day: “Continuum”. From that moment I knew for certain: John Mayer does what I had been trying to do all those years, namely making pop music that swears allegiance to the blues and soul.

During the theatre tour we’ll play John’s best songs from all his different incarnations. So the Trio gets its moment, but the intimate acoustic work won’t be overlooked either!
