REPRISE: ‘Gitaarmannen 2: Eric Clapton Unplugged’ (Guitar Heroes 2: Eric Clapton Unplugged)

In 2023 I, Ed Struijlaart, am touring Dutch theatres with my show Gitaarmannen 2: Eric Clapton Unplugged. A tribute to the best (opinion) and best-selling (fact) live album of all time! Every song is featured, including tracks from the special edition, such as the beautiful ‘Circus’.

What makes this album special is that Clapton didn’t take the easy road - he put his own heroes in the spotlight. Blues icons like Robert Johnson and Big Bill Broonzy. And also the beautiful 100-year-old ‘Nobody Knows You When You’re Down And Out’ makes an appearance. I tell the stories behind the songs through conversations with people directly involved, such as guitarist Andy Fairweather Low and keyboardist Chuck Leavell. This yields stories I’d never heard before, and together with my incredible band we make it a musical celebration.
